HMs and Awards
A certain number of images entered into a given Section will receive an HM or an Award, depending on the Skill Level of the entrants. This assignment is automatic as follows:
- An image at Skill Level E will receive an HM if it scores 22 or 23 points; and will receive an Award if it scores 24 points or higher.
- An image at Skill Level A will receive an HM if it scores 23 or 24 points; and will receive an Award if it scores 25 points or higher.
- An image at Skill Level AA or AAA will receive an HM if it scores 24 or 25 points; and will receive an Award if it scores 26 points or higher.
Each image is judged by 3 judges who each give the image a score of between 5 amd 9 inclusive - unless it is DQed (disqualified). The 3 scores are totaled, so an image can receive a total score of between 15 and 27. Thus, 21 is an average score.
All images that receive an HM or an Award during the Competition Year will be entered automatically into the Year End Competition.
